Lesson 3 of 9 · 5 min

Supported platforms and what simulated means

Tell a live publish from a simulated one, and plan paid work around the platform that actually ships.

Five platforms, one live path

Pinnora's registry lists five paid platforms: Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. They are not wired to the same depth, and that gap is the whole point of this lesson.

Meta is the one with a live publish path. Push a single-image creative to a connected Meta account and Pinnora makes a real Graph API call that creates the ad.

Google and TikTok only publish for real when their credentials are set on the server. Without a Google Ads developer token, or without a TikTok app secret, a push to those platforms runs the stub path and records as simulated. A simulated push is like a dress rehearsal with the house lights off: the database row gets written, the UI says publish queued, but no ad exists on the platform. It is a placeholder, not a launch.

Telling the two apart is easy once you know where to look. Every push gets a status. A push that succeeds reads live. A push that ran the stub reads simulated. If you see simulated, nothing went out, and you should confirm that platform's credentials are set before you count on it.

The practical takeaway: plan paid work around Meta today. The other platforms are present and will light up as their credentials land, but assume a push to Google or TikTok records as simulated until you have confirmed otherwise. LinkedIn and Pinterest are in the registry but are not a push path to rely on yet.
