Video editor

Drag a video or audio file onto Upload media in the Media panel, or click it and pick one. Below that, the panel lists up to 30 video renders and up to 30 audio tracks already in the project, each with a plus that drops it on the active lane. The + Shape menu ends in Upload image, which takes a PNG, WEBP, JPG or GIF sticker.

The assembly is plain ffmpeg compute, so the concat, trims, transitions, speed ramps, overlays, text, the audio mix and the export re-crop all cost nothing. The one billed sub-pass is burned captions, because it transcribes the finished audio to get word timings. If that transcription fails the save still completes, only without captions.

An H.264 MP4 with 48 kHz AAC stereo, saved into the project as a child of the clip you opened. Source keeps the original frame. The other four aspects derive the canvas from your own footage instead of forcing 1080p, so a 1920 by 1080 source set to 9:16 lands at 608 by 1080. The default crops to fill; Blur fill and Colour fill pad instead.

The timeline autosaves as you work, so closing the tab does not lose the cut. Save version snapshots the current state and numbers it, and the Versions button lists every snapshot with revert next to it. Reopening the artifact rehydrates that saved manifest, lanes and all, rather than resetting you to the raw scenes. Undo and redo cover the session.

Closer than most browser editors. One Remotion player drives the whole timeline off a single frame-locked clock, so trims, speed ramps, overlay placement and the audio mix play back as the exporter will render them. The gap is captions: ffmpeg burns those during the save, so the preview never shows them. Re-stitch & save stays the authoritative pass.

No. Choose file takes a video off your computer and Open from project picks one already in the project, and either becomes the clip the editor opens on. Sign in first, though: the wall reads Sign in to upload, because the file needs somewhere to live. Free credits come with the account.
