Lesson 3 of 7 · 4 min

Pick a voice

You can choose a voice for a clip, including your project's brand voice, and know why the tool never picks one for you.

The voiceover tool will not pick a voice for you, and that is deliberate. The Voice list starts empty, and you cannot run until you choose one, because a guessed voice is an off-brand voice shipped without anyone deciding on it.

Two kinds of option in the list

The first group is the Pinnora Voice library, a set of ready voices across ages, accents, and energy levels. The second is a project or brand default, which uses the voice your org has connected as its own. If your brand has a signature voice, choose that default and every read in the project stays in the same mouth, the way a brand keeps one spokesperson across a season of ads rather than a new narrator each spot.

Audition before you commit

Preview a voice on one short line before you hand it a long script. Tone reads differently out loud than on the page, and a voice that looks right by its name can land wrong in your ears. Judge the voice itself on a plain, neutral line first, because the delivery settings in the next lesson can make the same voice sound warm or clipped. The choice is per clip too, so one voice can carry an ad read while another narrates, inside the same project.

No cloning here

The library covers most needs directly. There is no voice-cloning step inside this form; you are choosing a voice, not training one. Keep the voice steady across a campaign and let the delivery controls carry the variation between clips, rather than swapping to a new voice every time you want a slightly different feel.
