Lesson 3 of 3 · 5 min
Per-platform requirements
You stop getting rejected for aspect ratio, length or caption limits.
Every platform has its own limits, and a post that violates one is either rejected or silently cropped, which is worse.
Steps
- Decide where a post is going before you make the asset.
- Convert the asset to the aspect ratio that platform expects.
- Check length limits for video and character limits for captions.
- Preview it as it will appear, not as it appears in your library.
The three that catch people
Aspect ratio, which gets cropped rather than rejected. Video length, which gets truncated. Caption length, which gets cut mid-sentence.
What to watch for
Cropping is the dangerous one because nothing fails. The post goes out with the product half out of frame and nobody notices until the numbers are bad.
