Lesson 5 of 8 · 4 min

Choose creatives and platforms

Select the creatives, platforms, and window an autopilot will use, and understand that these choices freeze into the task at creation.

The three inputs you give it

Three choices shape what an autopilot posts. First, the creatives: pick between one and sixty from your library. Second, the platforms: choose from the social channels your project is connected to, which can be LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube, or Pinterest. Third, the window in days, from one up to thirty, which is how far ahead the plan spreads the posts.

The create dialog only lists platforms you have actually connected, so you cannot accidentally schedule to a channel that cannot receive the post. If one you want is missing, connect it first in Integrations.

How the plan gets built

When the task fires, it hands your creatives, platforms, and day window to a planning step that lays them out across the calendar in a natural rhythm. It varies the count per day instead of dumping everything at once, matches each creative to a sensible platform, and writes a short caption for each. Each creative is used exactly once per run.

Your choices freeze at creation

This is the part people miss. The creatives, platforms, and window you choose are saved into the task when you create it, like a recipe written on a card. The task cooks from that same card every time, it does not re-scan your library for newer work or swap in different creatives on its own. To change what it posts, pause the task and create a new one with the updated list.

A sensible first setup

Start small: a short window, two connected platforms, and a pool large enough to avoid repeats. Watch a cycle or two before you widen it.
