Lesson 3 of 3 · 5 min

Keeping a person consistent

The same face carries across a set of assets instead of drifting.

If you make two assets with the same person described the same way, you will get two different people. This surprises everyone the first time, and the fix is not a better description.

Steps

  1. Pick one presenter and generate a short piece with them.
  2. Generate a second piece with the same presenter.
  3. Put the two frames side by side and look at the face.
  4. If it has drifted, attach the presenter reference instead of describing them again in words, and regenerate.

Why words are not enough

A description narrows the field to people who match it. It does not pick one. "Woman in her thirties with dark hair" describes millions of faces, and you get a different one from that set every time.

A reference is a specific face. That is the whole difference.

What to watch for

Drift also happens within a single longer video, not just between assets. The same fix applies, and it is worth checking the last scene against the first before you approve anything longer than a few seconds.
