Lesson 5 of 5 · 4 min
Restyling a video you have
You can take an existing clip and put it in a different world without reshooting.
If you have footage that works but looks wrong for the campaign, restyling it is usually faster and cheaper than generating a new video from nothing, because the timing and the performance already work.
Steps
- Upload the clip you want to restyle.
- Describe the destination look, not the current one.
- Keep the description about setting, light and material, since motion is coming from the source.
- Compare the result against the original for timing, not for looks.
What survives and what does not
Motion, pacing and framing survive, because they come from your footage. Colour, setting, materials and mood are what you are replacing.
What to watch for
Faces are the least reliable part of a restyle. If the clip's value is a specific person being recognisable, restyling is the wrong tool and a reference-anchored generation is the right one.
