Lesson 2 of 3 · 4 min
Regenerating one slide
You can fix a single slide without disturbing the ones that were fine.
Regenerating a whole deck to fix slide four means re-reviewing all the slides you already approved, and some of them will come back different.
Steps
- Identify exactly which slide is wrong and what is wrong with it.
- Regenerate that slide alone.
- Check it against its neighbours for consistency of style.
- Only regenerate the whole deck if the argument itself changed.
When a whole-deck redo is right
If the spine changed, redo everything, because slides written against the old argument will not fit the new one no matter how good they look individually.
What to watch for
A single regenerated slide can come back in a slightly different visual register than its neighbours. Check the pair on either side of it, not just the slide.
