Deck structure
Your deck has a spine someone can follow without you narrating it.
Most decks fail because they are a list of topics rather than an argument. The fix happens before generation, in one paragraph.
Steps
- Write the argument as one paragraph, in order, before you generate anything.
- Give each stage of that argument one slide.
- Add evidence slides only where a claim needs support.
- Read the slide titles in sequence. They should make sense on their own.
The title test
If you read only the titles top to bottom and the story holds, the deck has a spine. If the titles are nouns like "Overview" and "Market", it does not, and no amount of design will fix that.
What to watch for
Decks sent as documents and decks presented live are different objects. A live deck can be sparse because you are talking. A sent deck has to carry itself.
